The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an international standard that defines very restrictive environmental and social criteria that apply to all stages of production:
Responsible manufacturing
GOTS requires the use of organic fibres from certified organic farming, ensuring that no harmful synthetic pesticides or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are used. It also bans toxic chemicals harmful to health or the environment and mandates wastewater treatment to minimize environmental impact.
Chain of custody
Certification guarantees the organic content: from the farm to the final product.
